Starting January 18th, Summoners will finally be able to sell their T1 Alpha Catalysts to collect T2 Alpha Catalyst fragments. When Kabam first introduced catalyst fragments, they chose to only offer gold as a reward for selling T1 Alpha Catalysts. Its good to see this finally change.
T2 Alpha Catalysts are essential to take 5-Star Champions to rank 4. With Kabam loosening their grip on Tier-4 Class Catalysts, it is a relief to see the Tier 2 Alpha bottleneck would also get loosened.
Currently selling a Tier 1 Alpha Catalyst gives you 8000 gold, making them a great source of gold for Summoners struggling with that resource.
After January 18th, selling a Tier 1 Alpha Catalyst will reward you with 2000 gold and 120 Tier 2 Alpha Catalyst fragments. This may not be ideal for summoners with fewer 5-Star champions, and they'd likely want to sell their existing Tier 1 Alpha catalysts ahead of the update and stock up on their gold.
Keep in mind that Summoners will have to install a new update to the game, due on January 18th which will enable this functionality
